DWP TPIP Ballot result – massive vote for strike action 07/12/2010

The results of the TPIP ballot are now available. Members have voted overwhelmingly for strike action and action short of a strike. A full circular will follow shortly. The ballot result and next steps will be discussed at an emergency GEC on 30 November 2010.

The results are as follows:

Are you prepared to take part in strike action?

Number of papers returned: 1076
Number of papers found to be invalid: 16
Thus, number of valid papers to be counted: 1060

Number voting YES: 732 (69.1% of valid vote)

Number voting NO: 328 (30.9% of valid vote)

Are you prepared to take part in industrial action short of a strike?

Number of papers returned: 1076
Number of papers found to be invalid: 27
Thus, number of valid papers to be counted: 1049

Number voting YES: 871 (83% of valid vote)

Number voting NO: 178 (17% of valid vote)
