Update on Lee Rock Employment Tribunal 19/05/2014

Lee Rock’s Employment Tribunal hearing took place last week, the branch is positive regarding the hearing. PCS had supplied a barrister who presented Lee’s case based on unfair dismissal for attendance management but we still believe that Lee’s trade union activity is the reason for management’s inflexible and inconsiderate attitude. During the ET proceedings,  further documentation came to light that had not been disclosed to Lee beforehand, that was favourable to his case. This is the second document now that should have been disclosed to Lee prior to his dismissal.

While we remain positive,  it is worth saying that it is very unusual for an ET to find against the employer and in favour of the worker.

We wait for the outcome of the tribunal, though this is unlikely before early June 2014.

PCS reps in attendance have found out some useful pieces of information that will help them defend members, whatever the decision of the tribunal.

The branch wishes to thanks all members we attend the protest on Monday 28/4/14 in support of Lee.

We will update the website further when there is more news.
